Airlines Want To Gain More Profit As Much As Possible Especially During Times When Passenger Rates Are Dropping And Countries Like France Are Imposing Extra Taxes. There Are Many Ways To Increase Passengers. The First One And The Most Commonly Used Technique Is To Provide Discounts To Passengers And The Other One Is Cramming Extra Passengers To The Aircraft.

While The First Option Is A Great Idea But It Benefits Low-Cost Carriers Who Carry A lot Of Hidden Charges On Their Flights And Usually Land On Secondary Airports. For Example; Most Of The Low- Cost Airlines Prefer To Land On London Gatwick Airport Instead Of The Main London Heathrow Airport. Besides It, They Charge Huge Amounts On Food And Early Check-In. Some Examples Of Low-Cost Carriers Are JetBlue, Virgin America, EasyJet, Southwest, Indigo, Azul Brazilian, etc.

The Recent Years Have Seen The Downfall Of Many Full-Service Airliners Out Of The Most Famous Which Was Jet Airways. As Low-Cost Carriers Give Out Tickets At Very Low Prices, The Full Service Carriers Face Loss As A Result Of Which They Have To Cut On Ticket Prices Besides The Discounts And Eventually See There Fate. Some Examples Of Full-Service Carriers Are Air India, KLM, British Airways, United Airlines, etc.

While The Other Way To Gain More Passengers Which Very Few Airliners Have Been Able To Master Is To Increase Seating Capacity By Over-Booking Or Cramming Extra Passengers. But, Not Executing It Properly Can Lead To Passenger Discomfort Eventually Leading To Lose Passengers.

While Not All Airlines Face These Problems, Airlines Like United Are Mastering This Technique Like A Piece Of Cake. United Airlines Has Managed To Add More Seats To Its International Boeing 757 Fleet. The Airlines New Technique Will Lead United To Benefit An Additional 7 More Passengers. Economy-Plus Seats Will Lose 2 Inches Of Reclining Range But Gain Seven-Tenths Of An Inch Of Width, The Diagrams Show.

Economy Seats Will Lose 1 Inch Of Space Between Rows And 2 Inches Of Reclining Range While Gaining A Small Amount Of Width. That Reduced Space Doesn’t Mean that Passengers Will Necessarily Feel More Cramped.
