The Last Few Months In Aviation Was More About Cancelling Orders, Airlines Drowning And Aircraft Companies Getting Very Few Orders. But, With The Incoming Of The Paris Airshow, Airbus Managed To hold Up With A Lots Of Order. While Boeing Didn't Perform That Well.

The Cancellation Of Orders Were Mainly Due To The Falling Of Jet Airways And Major Fleet Changes In Airlines. The Drowning Of Jet Airways Led To Lease Of Many Aircraft Operated By Jet. Although, The Major Advantage Was For SpiceJet.

Airbus Managed To Get Firm Orders Of Up to 100 Aircraft But Boeing Lacked Mainly Due To The Grounding Of Its Best Selling Aircraft, The Boeing 737 Max. The Main Highlight Of The Paris Airshow Was The Launch Of Airbus A321XLR.

Airbus Managed To Get Many Orders For The Ultra-Wide Version Of The A321neo or in short, A321XLR. Airbus Got Orders Of 44 Firm Orders Of The A321XLR. Besides, Airbus Also Got 130 Firm Orders Of A320neo Family And Also 15 Orders Of The A220 Or Bombardier 'C' Series.

Although, Airbus Managed Some Of Its Sales Going Up Very High But There Was One Sad Disappointment For Airbus As It Was Unable To Sell Much Of Its Wide-Body Range Aircraft. Airbus Only Managed To Get A Commitment For 24 A330neo From Cebu Pacific And Virgin Atlantic. The A350 Failed To Get Any Orders In The Airshow.

As For Boeing, Due To Te 737 Max Mishap, Boeing Didn't Perform Well In The Airshow. Boeing Played Well In The Wide-Body Market And Got Firm Orders Of 9 Wide-Body. But, Out Of The nine; Three Were Cancelled Leaving Boeing With Only 6 Firm Orders.

Boeing Initially Got Orders For Six 767 Freighters by FedEx And One 787-9 From Air Lease. Boeing Didn't Get Any Orders For The 737 Family.

While Airbus reported solid order numbers for June, its year-to-date order total is sub-par from a historical perspective. Boeing is in an even worse position. That said, both companies received lots of nonbinding commitments at the Paris Air Show. If Airbus and Boeing can get those orders firmed up in the coming months, it would go a long way toward achieving a respectable number of orders for the year.

Airbus received hundreds of commitments at the Paris Air Show, highlighted by a letter of intent for 100 narrow-body jets from Air Lease, a fast-growing aircraft leasing outfit. Meanwhile, Boeing got a surprising commitment for 200; 737 Max from International Airlines Group (IAG), which owns several major European airlines. Boeing also announced letters of intent for about two dozen 787-9s and several 777-family jets.
Both jet makers have already made some progress on finalizing orders in July. Earlier this week, Qatar Airways firmed up an order for five 777 freighters. And Air China said on Thursday that it had ordered 20 A350-900s from Airbus.
